cruise port of Palma de Mallorca
In Palma de Mallorca most cruise ships doct at Estacio Maritima. This modern terminal also serves as a transit area for ferry passengers. The cruise terminal is located 6 km southwest of the historic city. If it’s very busy in the harbor there is a chance that you dock in the industrial zone near the fort at Porto Pi. Although cruise ships in Palma de Mallorca dock at about 6 to 8 kilometers from the city center, it’s quite easy and fast to get around. You first option is in most cases the shuttle bus from the cruise line company. If you have time and like to walk, you can enjoy the view over the bay and marina. A good alternative is by public bus, stopping in front of the cruise terminal and covering Palma and surroundings. If you are in a hurry or don’t mind to spend some extra’s, a taxi can be convenient as well.
Shore excursions around Palma de Mallorca
The city of Palma the Mallorca itself is great to discover. It’s a fantastic place to stroll around, relax, shop or taste local dishes in one of the many local restaurants. On the other side of the town, you can find nice sandy beaches with sunbeds and parasols. If you like the underwater world, you can visit the Aquarium of Palma, one of the biggest in Europe! But you can also decide to leave Palma and see more of the island. What about a relaxed catamaran tour along the coastline and blue water coves? Or a visit of the Caves of Drach, the Formentor Peninsula or the inner lands of Soler? Why not take a ride on a 100 year old wooden train or taste some local delicacies in one of the small fishing villages? Mallorca is the island of opportunities!
